This standard specifies the requirements on the initial and periodic tests and measurements of emissions and flue gas parameters at small firing installations according to the German Ordinance on Small and Medium Firing Installations (1. BImSchV) and the German Chimney Sweeping and Inspection Code (KÜO) designed for the application of gaseous or liquid fuel. It applies to the determination of gaseous emissions and soot including oil derivatives as well as the determination of the flue gas loss and the check of the flue gas and combustion air equipment at these installations. In addition, the monitoring tasks related to the technical condition and the operation of the installation to be treated in the preparation of the correct performance of the emission measurements are described. This standard is also applicable for the check of the CO content in flue gas of stationary combustion engines and gas- or oil-powered heat pumps according to KÜO. This standard takes into account the catalogue of questions for the interpretation of requirements of the 1. BImSchV elaborated by the German Federal and State Committee for Ambient Air Quality Protection (LAI). This catalogue also deals with questions related to emission monitoring. This standard is addressed primarily to chimney sweeps performing inspections at small firing installations according to 1. BImSchV and KÜO as well as to the authorities and the authorised district chimney sweepers responsible for the monitoring of these installations.
