The standard describes the basic principles for the simulation of logistic, material flow and production systems, and is aimed at planners, manufacturers and system operators. It is designed as an orientation aid to facilitate the introduction to simulation technology and to give the user a better understanding of the preparation, implementation and evaluation of simulation studies for the examination of logistic, material flow and production systems. The standard has been revised and updated by experts from industry and science and transparently describes recent changes in methodology and applications of simulation for the end user.
