Logistic activities are furnished along the added value chain in procurement, production and/or trade, distribution and disposal and cover among other things activities such as arrangement, procurement, import completion, storage of incoming goods, storage, paging, preservation, commissioning, packing, dispatch and quality assurance. Outsourcing corresponds to the assignment of enterprise functions of a client to other enterprises. Logistics Outsourcing, the external assignment of logistics and increase in value achievements, is often a topic controversially discussed in operational practice and the technical literature. The reconciliation of this deficit is among other things a goal of this VDI Guideline. The guideline is conceived for users on the part of the assigning and implementing enterprises as well as in an outsourcing project often supporting advisor. Structured one points out to the reader in compact form, which subranges in an outsourcing project in contract logistics are to be considered and/or which are affected. Included are here among other things aspects of the information and communications technology, the formal contractual organization and the project and advertisement management.
