VG 88700-4:2018-11

This standard applies in connection with VG 88700-2 to the components of the modular sleeve system. This system is used to manufacture penetrations through divisions. Divisions are parts of the ship's structure, like bulkheads or decks. They are equipped with openings for the passage of electrical cables and pipes. Inside of these openings frames according to VG 88700-3 are mounted. With the components according to this standard the electrical cables or pipes led through the frames are separated and the remaining cavities tightly sealed. A penetrated division treated in this way provides the properties with respect to its resistance against fire, water and gas pressure as required in VG 88700-2.
