This basic section standard applies to electrical connection elements in combination with the detail standard in the following referred to as components. This basic section standard includes the general requirements and provisions. It contains information relating to unchanging technical requirements and test conditions, i. e. properties and provisions that apply to the respective components as well as general procedures, matters of liability, patent law, etc. The detail standard specifies the specific technical requirements and tests applicable to the respective components. If statements of the detail standard differ from those given in the basic section standard, statements of the detail standard shall apply.
